CINC Art Club: Theater is Hard

  • Creative in Common | CINC 86 Sloan St. South Orange, NJ USA (map)

For our next Art Club, we're stepping into the world of theater with Reid @reidfarrington and Sara @ladyfarrington Farrington of Foxy Films Theater Company for a conversation about creativity, collaboration, and what it really takes to bring a theatrical production to life.

Sara is a playwright and author of Theater Is Hard, a Substack exploring the challenges, triumphs, and realities of making theater today. Reid is a theater director, filmmaker, and new-media artist whose work pushes the boundaries of traditional performance by combining theater, film, and technology.

Together, they explore new ways of telling stories, challenging conventions, and engaging audiences through live performance. Their productions blur the boundaries between theater, film, and visual art, using choreographed movement, projected imagery, and live artistic expression to create immersive experiences. Actors interact with one another and their surroundings in unexpected ways, transforming the stage itself into a living canvas where stories unfold.

We'll talk with Sara and Reid about their creative journeys, the challenges of making theater, the role of collaboration and experimentation, and what happens when ambitious creative ideas meet the practical demands of bringing them to the stage.

Whether you're a theater lover, an artist, a maker, or simply curious about the creative process, this is a conversation for you.

Free to attend. However, please register.
